Money Mindset Work Burnt Me the F*ck Out!

I am a money coach, but these 3 words make me cringe:
Money Mindset Work.
If I had a dime for every person who came into my care feeling broken and burnt out from doing all the money mindset work without seeing any improvement to their beliefs about money and their worth.
It honestly breaks my heart every single time. And this topic is near and dear to me because I got quite burnt out on doing money mindset work which left me feeling more broken because I didn’t “believe” enough.
I was overwhelmed with anxiety when I was at the peak of my money stuff. And I was SO angry because it seemed like everyone else was in on a secret that I wasn’t privy to. I was full of “negative feelings” like resentment, jealousy, and worst of all, loneliness.
Mainstream coaching practices and my colleagues at the time sold me the tale that mindset work would be the solution to my problems. I joined multiple programs that promised words like “abundance” and “empowerment” and all that other jargon. It felt good to be in these groups, I got high on that dopamine hit and the promises that if only I believed hard enough then all my dreams would come true.
And there is a smidge of truth to that… but after that dopamine high, I was left dry, defective, and lonelier than ever.
I feel so passionately about this topic, and I want to extend a virtual hug to each and every one of you who tried to heal your money stress and overwhelm using mindset work, only to feel more stressed out and broken.
